Petrus Tun (19 March 1936 – 23 March 1999)[2] was a Micronesian politician, who played an important role during first days of Micronesian independence and previously Trust Territory times.
Tun served as the first Vice President of the Federated States of Micronesia during first term of President Tosiwo Nakayama (1979-1983).
Previously he served as a Governor of Yap and a senator during the Trust Territory times. In addition he held another high positions in both government and private industries.
Despite his wish, after his death widely respected Tun was honored by a state funeral, attended by a large crowd.
